I bought it for a long hall so that I could flip on this light in the evenings without having to turn on the three overhead lights and thereby save electricity and bulbs. It is porcelain, made in China but with excellent workmanship; it definitely has a Tiffany glass look to it. At under $6 with super saver shipping, this would be a terrific gift for anyone. I am surprised at just how lovely it is.
