(More customer reviews)When I saw this set and the price, I assumed it would be poor quality, and noticed that it was 18/0 steel - that means it's zero percent nickel, the metal that keeps the flatware from corroding. I've only owned these for about a month now, so I can't really comment on the long term ownership, but they are surprisingly solid pieces. I've been using them for about a month (including three dinner parties) with no ill effects, scratches, bent pieces, etc. While lighter than a more expensive 18/10 formal set, they are still very solid and feel right when in use.
The set is also huge - it includes a few serving pieces, and both a dessert and fish fork (in addition to the standard dinner fork). It also has a double count of teaspoons and a set of steak knives, bringing the total pieces per setting to 8 (dinner fork, fish fork, dessert fork, soup spoon, teaspoon, teaspoon, knife, steak knife). I don't think you can get a better set for this price. I found the steak knives to be somewhat disappointing, but then again I am a knife snob and given the price you can't really complain.
