(More customer reviews)I got this cake cover yesterday and realised that the measurement of 12" includes the outer ledge. The plates I normally use for my baked goods are 11" in diameter, and it isn't big enough to cover the plate but not small enough to sit completely on top either (my bad, should have taken that into consideration).
Considering many dinner plates nowadays are larger than 11" in diameter, this cake cover is not large enough for them.
One more thing I noticed is that the handle to lift the cover is a bit small, as well as it narrows toward the top - which causes the cover to slip out of your fingers while lifting (both my son and husband experienced this - but not me).
It is not a bad product, but because of the handle issue, I'm giving it a 3 star review.
